Product information

Solid Gold Pocket Watch & Albert….
What a fabulous time piece this is, recently serviced, it has been tickingaway by my side here and has not lost a minute all day.
This is a solid 9ct gold pocket watch that comes with a solid 9ct goldAlbert chain and fob. In addition it has a period dark green leather frame“picture frame” stand lined in emerald green velvet and silk.
It is a “Half Hunter” meaning that the watch face has a protective coverbut it has a small window with numerals on the outside so that you canconveniently, safely (and quickly) see the time without opening the cover. (aFull Hunter has a completely closed cover). Inside it has a white enamel facewith a Roman numeral dial and also has a separate second hand dial.
It is a stem wound mechanical watch of course, the movement is a Waltham (thename and serial number is beautifully engraved on the movement) and the facecover opens very swiftly by depressing the stem.
Waltham began producing watches in Massachusetts in the USA around 1850and became one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high quality watches.
The watch has hallmarks for Birmingham 1932 they are all over the watch -on the stem (and loupe above), on the inside of the half hunter cover, on theinside of the rear outer cover, on the inside of the second cover and on theborder of the movement cradle.
The watch is in excellent condition with no loss of enamel to the numeralson the Hunter cover and no dents to the case.
There are minor surface scratches to the case which I would expect to seefor a watch this age.
The inner, rear cover has an inscription engraved but this is not visibleon the outside (see pictures).
The Albert chain (15” long) is also solid gold with each link stamped 9ct(although the marks are worn). The chain has two dog clips at each end and hasa moveable T bar. A fancy solid 9ct fob with a carnelian hard stone blank sealbase and two snakes finishes it off.

This fantastic Art Deco timepiece would make a great gift for someonespecial.
Antique Pocketwatches & Alberts are becoming harder to come by these days, the price ofgold has sadly seen many traded in and melted down because of their weight.

This is such a shameas they are a great piece of wearable jewellery that can be passed downgeneration to generation as a family heirloom.

I do believe that wedding grooms are buyingthem to wear with a pocket watch and antique cufflinks on their wedding day. What a lovely idea and how romantic to think that they will be passed on to thenext generation.
The fabulous leather “picture frame” standallows the watch to be placed inside but kept on view on a mantle or side tablefor who would want to lock away such a beautiful thing?
Comes with the Edinburgh Leather frame shown (not the "bolton" box it will not fit in this and this is just for display) & a new double door presentation case & full instructions on how to open, set & wind.
