SOLD Antique Eighteen CaratGold & Diamond Stick / Tie / Lapel/ Cravat Pin
Beautifully made thisis a quality Stick pin set with a small old cut Diamond. A fabulous piece of Victorian engineering, the top of this pin unscrews so that the decorative ends could be swapped over - a little peep into a Victorian Gentleman's life and apparel.
Look at the rear, it really is well made.
Comes in it's original leather and scarlet silk lined case (the bottom has been refurbished).
Size: 8cm top to bottom. Top is 2cm x 1.5cm

Did you know that in the 1920's 25 Gentlemen formed a "Scarf Pin Society" having three permanent officers King Pin, Linch Pin and Safety Pin - Founder, Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Their aim was to revive the Stick Pin Fashion, members met once a year and would draw lots to borrow pins belonging to the Society to wear at events and dinner parties. Special pins would be commissioned and shown onvelvet cushions at the dinner. It continued until the 1960's. The objective of the society was to "reunite those few gentlemen whose pleasure it is to bring a little colour into a drab word by wearing a scarf or tie pin".
