Fine Georgian Coral Cameo Earrings
Rare pair of Georgian earrings C.1800 probably from Naples, Italy. Good, high relief, head carvings surrounded by 18ct (tested) cannetille / granular frames. These fabulous small earrings were made to be worn during the day, think Regency, Jane Austen, lawn linen dresses and matching fabric draped around the hair and falling to the shoulder.
In super condition, no chips to the Coral or repairs, original fittings.
Size: Cameo Frames are 5/8th" (1.7cm) tall x 1/2" (1.2cm) wide. Top of hook to bottom of Cameo Frame is just short of 1" or 2.5cm As such, the frames were meant to dangle delicately from the bottom of the earlobe
